Holiday Hop!

Holiday Hop - Siren Authors

***Update*** The contest is now closed and it’s time to choose the winners.

I used random . org to choose. The egift card goes to Ann W.  Nicole J and Vanessa N. will receive an ebook of their choice. I’ll be contacting the winners via email shortly.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

It’s holiday time! For me that means taking care of and spoiling my family (even more than usual, as if that’s even possible). Of course there are presents and baked goodies galore but it goes beyond that.

The first book that I published released in December two years ago. Combining my first book birthday with the end of the year always makes me pause and reflect. No question, I have zero regrets about hitting the “send button” on that first Christmas novella (Dillon’s Gift) or my first Siren release, Azrael’s Light, a few months later. Now I have five books total, four of them with Siren. My newest release, A Craving for Two, went live at Amazon just a couple of weeks ago.

No, I am by no means a household name. I may never be and that’s okay. But I’ll never stop writing. More than a hobby or second source of income, it’s an integral part of who I am. There are always stories in my head. Sometimes the hard part is choosing which character to listen to next, but I love them all.

So, whether you have read any of my books or not, to thank you all for for being a part of the ride that is the start of my writing career I have three prizes for three winners. I will announce the winners Saturday, December 20th. I am gifting one ten dollar egift card for Amazon, Nook, or Bookstrand, winner’s choice. Two winners will receive an ebook of mine, their choice. To enter my contest here, on my page, simply shout out Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, or whichever winter holiday you celebrate in the comment section below with your email addy. If you don’t celebrate a winter holiday then simply say “nice to meet you!”, or “Congratulations!” 😉 I’m easy that way, lol. The contest is open to everyone, anywhere.

Dillon’s Gift –

Yet, he doesn’t know Stacy as well as he thinks, and there is an equal chance that things could backfire.

Will a gag gift mix-up, a game of Truth or Dare, and a blizzard ruin the holiday for them both or bring two friends together for a Christmas to remember?

Four leaf clovers, rainbows, leprechauns and Irish Cream are the first things that come to mind when I think of St. Patrick’s Day. All of the above are things that bring a smile to my face. So do prizes, friendship and new release news. For this girl, that’s like Christmas, a birthday and Halloween all in one day, lol.

He tapped his fingers on the bar, waiting while a shapely bartender filled an order at the bar opposite him. The little human filled out her brown leather pants with some seriously sexy curves. He raised an eyebrow in appreciation as her backside discreetly swayed in time to the music.

When she turned around to face him, he was smacked in the face with an odd sense of familiarity. She stopped dead in her tracks and dropped the bottle of alcohol she’d been carrying. Standing frozen in place as a barely dressed waitress tried to get her attention, she stunned him. The scent of spilt vodka filled the air, and the pounding music paused.

“Boss? Are you okay? Hey? That piece of tall, dark, and handsome over there wants to speak with you.” The waitress tapped her on the shoulder and then walked off shaking her head. The brunette blinked the most stunning green eyes he’d ever seen and seemed to gather her wits as she waved the waitress off. It wasn’t the first time he’d seen a woman struck stupid by his presence. Yet, for a split second, he could have sworn he’d seen a glimmer of recognition in her eyes. But that was impossible.

As a mere human, she wouldn’t have the faintest idea that Death even existed, let alone stood impatiently in her club. She was the most intriguing woman he’d seen in centuries, if not longer. She seemed so very familiar, yet he doubted he would have forgotten a face as striking as hers. It was almost heart shaped with a little pointed chin and a bow-shaped mouth. Chocolate hair, darker than Abaddon’s murky abyss, framed her face and swung down past her shoulders. The tails of a miniscule white blouse were tied tightly just beneath her breasts, drawing his gaze to an enticing display of cleavage. A spark of green light drew his sight lower. A small emerald dangled from her belly button, calling him to press his mouth to the skin just above her low-riding pants.

Yet one alarming detail instantly dried his salivating mouth. Her Kor, the Fates’ signature glyph that should be visible on her forehead, was missing. She looked human, and smelled deliciously human, yet the hallowed symbol he spent his entire life recognizing and adhering to was missing. It made no sense. He spent his entire existence a slave to that symbol, and to find it simply…not there…on a human baffled him beyond belief. Had her fate not yet been determined, even at this late a time in her life? The thought of one day having to steal the breath from this lovely creature’s body made his chest tighten with an oddly uncomfortable feeling. He stomped the alien feelings into submission so he could get to work. He’d never been one to let a pretty face distract him. His vacation waited.

And for the second update- on Monday I’ll be participating in the Kiss Me I’m Irish blog Hop. What better way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day than with great books and prizes? I hope you’ll consider stopping by to check out the fun. I know I’m looking forward to it.

Thanks for coming by my stop on the blog hop. You’re just in time to join me at the club, Hellfire. It’s owner, Diane invited me to stop by for a drink.

“Hey, Diane! It’s great to see you. The bar’s looking good.”

“Thanks, Amy, Alice and Brick are a kick-ass team. How are you doing?” I watch as she pours five drinks in about ten seconds flat. It’s never failed to amaze me how bartenders are able to juggle so many tasks at once. I couldn’t handle the drive-thru when I worked at a fast food restaurant as a teen.

“I’m busy, but good. I just finished my third book. I’m getting ready to submit it soon. How have you been, seriously? I know things got pretty dicey recently.” Guilt hits me as I see the sparkling green Light in her eyes dim. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have mentioned that.”

“You’re fine. And not talking about it won’t erase what happened. I’m tired and worried about the missing women. I still haven’t found them all. Azrael’s helping me whenever he can.” The Light sparks into full intensity when she mentions his name.

“How is Azrael?”

A bright smile lit her features. “He’s great. He’s keeping a busy schedule, but if anyone can handle it, he can. He just realized he’s going to be an ‘uncle’. He’s started hovering over Lauren, doting on her. It’s cute to watch.”

“Azrael? Cute and doting. Oh boy. Those are two words I never expected to hear anyone use to describe him.” Tall, dark and dangerous? Yes. Deadly? Yes. Sexy as hell? Yes. But he was taken and only a woman as strong as Diane could be his equal.

“How are the kids?” A friendly smile lit her face as she wiped down the bar, pulled out a tray and poured more drinks.

“Bratty and wonderful as always.  I’m trying to teach one of them to drive while the other is driving me batty. They’re a pain in my ass and my heart and soul all tied up into one package.”

“And your writing? How’s that coming. I know it means a lot to you.” It’s difficult not to squirm while being pierced with such an intense focus.

“Good, I think. I hope, at least. I’m working hard at it, squeezing it in whenever I can. My family has realized it’s real to me and they’ve been very supportive.”

“And the Hellspital, as you call it. How are they treating you?” She tipped her chin and glowered as if she dared my co-workers to give me a hard time.

“It could be better, but it could always be worse. I butt head with the doctors from time to time, but the people in my department are good to me. We take care of each other. We have to, especially on nightshift.”

“If you have trouble, let us know. We’ll take care of it.” The green Light of her eyes darkened in color, but somehow brightened in intensity. No one messed with a friend of Diane’s.

“I will and thanks. I gotta go. Will you tell Azrael, and the crew I said hi? I miss working with them.”

“I will. You never know, you may bump into them when you work with Cyril on his story. That’s coming soon, right?”

“Yes, he’s going to meet with me next week. I’m looking forward to it.”

“I’ll let you go, now, but remember. You’re one of ours now, if you need anything, you ask. No arguments.” She leaned over the bar and pulled me into a tight hug. Warmth, ease and energy flowed through me.

“Will do.”
